Paul Effman Music Celebrates Music in Our Schools Month®

In observance of the 33rd annual Music In Our Schools Month®, Paul Effman Music is celebrating music with schools, students, and teachers alike.

Facilitated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), Music In Our Schools Month® has been a tradition long valued by music communities across the country and one that we await every year.

This years theme, ‘Music Connects Us’, is one that we bring to life every day.

“In both our private schools and retail locations, we strive to use music as a chance to build relationships,” said Lou Varuzzo, Director of Education. “Whether it be with students, teachers, customers, or co-workers, we find music to have a unique ability to bring people together.”

Involvement in band and orchestra is a fundamental aspect of a student’s social life and education. When introduced at a young age, music has proven to both produce life-long friendships and foster a well-rounded learning environment. Music gives students an opportunity to build comradery with their peers, and provides students with an outlet in which to integrate core education subjects, such as language arts, math, and science.

While overwhelmingly beneficial in an academic setting, music plays a key role in bringing people together in everyday life, too. When we watch a movie, listen to the radio, or go to church, we are being brought together by the power of music.
